The first thing you should know is that a legal offer to purchase your home must be in writing. So, if a buyer simply tells you that he or she wants to buy your home at a certain price, don’t waste your time. Tell the buyer to submit the offer to you in writing.
When you receive a written offer to purchase your home, make sure you read it from start to finish. Don’t just read the first page. This is important because even if the buyer offers to buy your home at the asking price, there may be other terms in the offer that make it unacceptable, such as the length of escrow or how the escrow fees or inspection fees are split. As the standard offer form is fairly detailed and complex, you should seriously consider consulting a licensed real estate agent or broker before you accept any offer.
When you purchase a service package from O.C. Real Estate Advisors, you will be assigned a licensed real estate advisor who will help you review any offers you receive and explain to you any part of the offer you do not understand.
