How do I make my home attractive to potential buyers?

One of the first things you should do to prepare your home for viewing by potential buyers is to assess your home’s “curb appeal.” Curb appeal, or what your home looks like from the street, will determine the buyer’s first impression of your home.

If you have a front yard, make sure the lawn is freshly mowed, trees and plants are neatly pruned, dead plants and weeds removed, and items that don’t belong in the yard are temporarily stored in the garage.

Consider touching up obvious chipping or flaking paint on the interior and exterior of your home.

Do a thorough cleaning of all rooms, including carpets. Pay special attention to the kitchen area and bathrooms.

p>Check to make sure all appliances and light fixtures are in working order. Seriously consider repairing or replacing any that are not in working order.

Remove clutter and extra furnishings. It will make your home look bigger and will eliminate potential distractions for the buyer
